A great trip to Elbrus, the highest mountain in Europe, as well as acclimatisation on Mukal peak, 3889m and a camp at Syltrankel lake, 3200m.

As part of continuing my personal development in the outdoors, last week I was down in the Lakes, specifically Hutton Roof crag, Tilberthwaite quarry and Ingleton wall, taking part in my Single Pitch Award training. It was held by Cliff Lowther of Roxcool, and was excellent, building on my previous knowledge of trad climbing, but with an emphasis on rigging anchors, top and bottom roping safely, avoiding problems, but what to do if one occurs.
Cliff is an excellent instructor, and myself, Hayley, Chloe and Jordan all came away buzzing with enthusiasm for getting out on the rock and practising our techniques. Further pics are on Cliff's FB page at - https://www.facebook.com/cliff.lowther/posts/10154356681509758 Anyone wanting some free single pitch tuition, you know where to get me!!! ;) |
