A really satisfying day, with some extensive views to say the least...........
Sean, myself and Jensen the dog did a lightening less than 8hr round of the three munros NW of the Spittal of Glenshee today. Lightening, as usually at this time of year you would expect deep snow, but following the turbo-thaw we had this week, we had frozen ground and temperatures just above freezing. This enabled us to motor along the 31k, 1600m of ascent route, and we even got a pint at the Dalmunzie Hotel, very nice! :) Lots of mountain hares and ptarmigan as you'd expect, but not a deer to be seen, near or far. Most odd.
A really satisfying day, with some extensive views to say the least...........
